He never changed and it was one of the reasons my Grammie divorced him after a long marriage. It sounds like you had hoped your Dad had changed. I'm sorry for you that he hasn't. The best you can do for yourself now is know who you are and stick to what you want for yourself and Elijah. Keep your head high. Fall apart when no one is looking when it gets too tough so you won't be ridicule for doing so. And you must fall apart sometimes otherwise you will break at the worst moments and not be able to take back whatever you may do. Do things that make you feel the light at the end of the tunnel is close. And, of course, keep writing.
